Earlier this year, a schedule of releases was posted. With only one artist actually having released any material this year, it begs the question: Is B.B. Manik the only artist on Raw Riddim? We tracked him down to find out.

Raw Riddim: Both the blog & Facebook have seen less updates than in previous months & you’re the only artist who has released anything. What is the current state of Raw Riddim?

B.B. Manik: There are three definite releases set for this year. Those are my album, Cassie’s album & Curtis’ LP. Beyond that, I hope to release a second album before years end & Cassie might release an EP. But the LPs are a lock.

With Grim Burton’s departure [he announced last week he has now signed with Team Sesh], are you looking to signing new talent?

No, not at all. In fact, I think Curtis will be the last artist signed with long term plans. We’ll probably operate in a manner similar to say, Koch. That is to say, you come to us & drop an EP or mixtape without the restrictions you have at other labels. It benefits the artists & us. The bigger the roster has been, the more chaotic things are.

What’s Ash Price’s current status?

Ash hopes to release some new material through Raw Riddim in the future, but there is no solid target date right now.

Will Raw Riddim Red Label ever make a return?

We’ll be dropping some collaboration tees with my company Big Boy On Campus to celebrate ten years in the game. Watch out for that!

Finally, Raw Riddim is famous for it’s live shows. Will anyone on the roster be on the road this year?

Cassie will be touring heavily to promote her LP. Curtis will be having some big events & I plan to be on the road from July onwards. It’s hopefully gonna be a big year for us.

Thank you to the fans who have always stuck by us. Bought the CDs, downloaded the mixtapes & rocked the t-shirts. 2013 will be big for us. 2014 will be MASSIVE.
